{"id":1762,"date":"2020-11-24T15:08:00","date_gmt":"2020-11-24T15:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.artechouse.com\/?p=1762"},"modified":"2021-02-26T17:35:06","modified_gmt":"2021-02-26T17:35:06","slug":"hologram-like-installation-unveiled-at-artechouse-dc-nyc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.artechouse.com\/hologram-like-installation-unveiled-at-artechouse-dc-nyc\/","title":{"rendered":"Hologram-Like Installation Unveiled at ARTECHOUSE DC &#038; NYC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>To pay tribute to bars and restaurants during these difficult times, we transformed our augmented reality bars in NYC and DC into hologram-like installations inspired by Edward Hopper\u2019s iconic Nighthawks painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Utilizing innovative projection techniques to create a 3D hologram effect, <strong><em>NHKS4220 Bar Illusion<\/em><\/strong> brings Hopper&#8217;s depiction of a downtown bar scene to life at a time perhaps equally infused by existential fears as the early 1940s when the United States had just entered WWII, and a feeling of anxiety and concern about the future was pervasive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&quot;NHKS4220 Bar Illusion&quot; ARTECHOUSE x Noiland Collective powered by Epson\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kLa1ou8wDWU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption>&#8220;<em>NHKS4220 Bar Illusion&#8221;<\/em> | <em>ARTECHOUSE x Noiland Collective powered by Epson<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The difference is that today, social gatherings at any place, particularly at bars, has become a pre-pandemic memory. During troubled times, bars are a place for solace, community, and conversation but due to health concerns, many of them are now closed and some may never reopen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>NHKS4220 Bar Illusion<\/em> plays out the scene in &#8220;Nighthawks&#8221; as a living moment, both in the past and present.
